Part of the Ghent Altarpiece. It is placed above the panel where Mary receives the Annunciation. The text on the ribbon is from Micah 5 and refers to that episode: "Ex te mihi egredietur qui sit dominator in Israhel", or "out of thee [Bethlehem] shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel".
